CVS Deal Shopping 8/2: Stocking Up for Baking

Christmas Cookie Baking Marathon
I didn't see anything I wanted at CVS this week so I saved my extra bucks for next week.  My mom had me stop in and pick up some nuts for baking [it's never too early to start stocking up on supplies for our annual Christmas Cookie Baking Marathon.

CVS carries both Walnuts and Pecans...regular price is $6.79 a bag.  I picked up three bags of Walnut halves & pieces (9 oz. each) and one of Pecan Halves (5.5 oz.) on this deal:

$5.00 each; Spend $20 get $5 extra bucks.

As you can see my out of pocket expense was low because Mom had extra bucks from earlier transactions.  We also had CVS printable coupons for Abound Nuts we printed a few months back.  They were limit to one type per transaction, so I checked out twice.

First Transaction:

3 -- Walnuts @ $5 each.

Used:  $1/1 Abound Nut printable coupon
            $2/2 Abound Nut printable coupon
            $10  Extra Buck
            $2  Extra Buck

Cash Paid:  $  .00 (before tax)

Second Transaction:

1 -- Pecans @ $5

Used:  $1/1 Abound Nut printable coupon
            $4  Extra Buck

Cash Paid:  $ .00 (before tax)

Amount Saved:  $ 27.16 or 100%

Total Extra Bucks Used:  $16

Total Extra Bucks Received: $5

I don't usually use up so many extra bucks, I prefer to roll mine from week to week, but Mom thought the net price of the nuts was worth using hers up on.
