CVS Deal Shopping for Charity Week of 5/18/2014 ~ Saved 85%

CVS Deal Shopping for Charity Saved 85 percent

Tho I didn't do any extra buck deals, with sales and coupons I was still able to get almost $33 worth of products for my $5 this week.  I think I should change the name of this challenge to CVSing for Sharing, since at times we share with those not in need of physical items but in need of encouragement or appreciation, like our USA military personnel.

Here's my $5 CVSing for Charity Challenge shopping trip for the CVS weekly ad of  May 18 2014.

2 -- Right Guard @ buy one get one free @ $4.79
Used:  1 -- $2/1 Right Guard CVS Scanner coupon
Used:  2 -- $1.50/1 Right Guard insert coupon

12 -- Tic Tacs @ $.77 each
Save $1.00 off When You Buy Any TWO (2) Single Packs (60 ct.) of Tic Tac® mintsUsed:  6 -- $1/2 Printable Coupon (you can print two per computer, Sarah, my husband and myself all printed two)

2 -- Kraft Mac & Cheeses @ $.99 each

Total Retail Price of Products:  $ 32.96

Total Paid (excludes tax):  $ 5.01

Total Savings:  $ 27.95  (85%)

Destination:  Deodorant -- charity chest for later needs; Mac & Cheese -- church food pantry; Tic Tacs -- Sarah has claimed them all for the care package she is sending to Sailors currently deployed.  I was going to save some for my Operation Christmas Child, but there is plenty of time to collect for that before November and the sailors are deployed now, so all 12 will be shared with them.

My $5 CVSing for Charity Challenge is much like my $50 CVS Gift Card Challenge, but with a bit of different twist.  I will be budgeting $5 each week total for shopping at CVS for items to donate to local or global charities.

About my Charity Chest:  One of my favorite things about deal shopping is having more to share.  Not only can I get great things with coupons and CVS extra bucks, but by saving on my own budget I have more cash to share, too.  Whenever I can get a fantastic deal on an item that my family does not need I pick it up and tuck it away in my Charity Chest until I find someone who needs it.   Another way I have more to give is by earning free CVS gift cards thru Swagbucks.  I have been able to give thru local charities and my own church as well as thru national ministries like Operation Christmas Child.
