Share Your CVS Shopping Trip for the Weekly Ad of 10/21/2012

Simply CVS Gift Card ChallengeDid you pick up any good deals from the CVS Weekly Ad of 10/21?

If you blog about your shopping trip I'd love for you to put a link to your post (a link back would be appreciated, but is not necessary); and if you don't blog please leave a comment below letting us know what you got.  I really enjoy seeing what others get and it is a great way for new shoppers to learn how to CVS.  I learned from reading and reading and reading what others did. I am still learning!

If you have a shopping linky in your blog post and are linking up here, add "link up" to your title below so readers can link up at your blog, too.
PLEASE NOTE:  ONLY link up to your CVS shopping post directly, all others will be removed.  I have had readers mention too many links are not to CVS shopping posts.

2 John Frieda Brilliant Shine Gloss- $11.29 each (This is a fantastic product, and makes my hair SO shiny. I've been stingy using my current bottle, but now I have more!)

    3 X 99c Hallmark cards

1 milk $2.29 (CVS's regular price is cheaper than my grocery store's sale price! Insane!)

The above items qualified for my 25% off email coupon.

    Also got:
    3 X Stride Spark Gum $1.00
    1 Gain dish soap

    Coupons:
    2 X $1 off John Frieda
    $2 off Hallmark MQ
    $20 in ECBs
    OOP = 91c
Got back: $10 (JF), $1 (gum), $3 (Hallmark)

Planning on going back later in the week for the Renu 2-pk, hopefully finding the free pumpkin carver too, some Kleenex Cool touch tissues and maybe some Halloween candy (for me :))

I spent way more oop at CVS this week than usual and shopped more than usual. I think I only had $1 ECB to start and about $5 on a Swag Bucks CVS gift card. All together I paid about $30, with tax, for:
Di-Gel, St. Joseph's Aspirin, Pumpkin Carving Kit, Playtex 40 ct tampons, 3 AG cards, 4 6ct snack sized Hersheys, 10 2 liters Coke, 2 CVS training pants, 2 CVS battery packs, 4 local papers, 4 CVS candy corn, 5 large bags of Hershey's chocolates, 1 Schick Silk razor, 1 Schick Silk refill, and 2 bags of Oreos Halloween snack sized cookies. I could have spent less, but I stocked up on Halloween goodies, I needed batteries, and I was low on tampons. This is the first time since I began CVSing that I have paid this much cash in one week, but when I look at how much I got for $30, and that I have $14 ECBs left, I am happy with my week.

Amie, I think sometimes we get so used to such low out of pocket that we forget we can s till save a lot even when spending more. There are great deals, like you got this week, that will save us a lot of money and it is easy to miss them if we focus on the out of pocket total. You did get a lot for your $30 (and increased your extra bucks greatly).
