Check Ad On CVS.com to See If You Will Get the Test Market Ad

The ads for next week are up at CVS.com so you can enter your zip code to check to see if your area will get the test market ad or the regular ad.

Not in the test market area! YIPPPPEEEE! (Boston, MA) I saw MA listed and my heart sank. But no more! Free jelly beans on Sunday! :)

I am in the test market! (NM) Does this mean I am just out of luck? Or will the full ad discounts still apply in the system????

We don't know for sure yet, Alex, I'll post as soon as I have some solid information. There are supposed to be "hidden" deals in the test market--which perhaps will be the ones in the other ad. They want shoppers to roam the aisles checking out the sale signs apparently.

I am unfortunately in the test market. I don't see the point of the "hidden" deals. It does NOT encourage me to look around and shop more. It actually makes me less likely to shop there.

I agree, Valencia. They did this a year or two ago and I thought it was terrible. Who has time now adays to go look around for sale tags?

i dont see where i can find out if im in test market or not.. what do i click on?

Cheryl said...

Mindi, go to cvs.com and click on the "weekly store ad" link in top right hand side. This week's ad will come up. Above the ad there are two tabs: Current weekly ad and upcoming weekly ad--click the upcoming week and you will see if you have the two page or normal multi page ad.

Well, I'm in the test market. Doesn't "encourage" me to roam the store as I like to go in fully prepared. Think I'll be taking the week off from CVS.

Cheryl said...

Lori, I know, I want my list all ready. I remember a couple of years back our area had this and I just skipped that week.

I got the test market ad, there is a coupon with it that says, Create your own sale...20% off your purchase(reg price items) 3 days only. Since I get these via email all the time anyway,I dont really have any interest in going at all. Nothing in this ad would make me run to the store.

I was totally confused when I went to CVS this morning because I had no idea of the test ad (which I am in in NY). I saw other sale signs and signs indicating items were part of the $10 gift card sale but they were not in the one page flyer. The cashier showed me the small blurb at the bottom of the page that said to look for the signs in the store. Are they crazy?? I told the cashier how stupid this was and that someone that does not use coupons must have come up with it!

Karen, I am sure a lot of people were confused. And I agree, who has time to look for sale signs? There is supposed to be a mid-week ad coming out in the test areas. I've added a preview of it--you can find the link under the Simply CVS banner above.

I guess I was in the test market - I didn't realize it until I went shopping this morning. I went to get the Zantac deal, and there was not Zantac deal. No jelly beans, either! I'm so frustrated!!

I didn't find a mid-week ad in my paper today or on the website. Gonna check out the store to see if there is a flyer there. I hope they don't do this again.

Karen, I don't know where all the mid-week was supposed to be and I haven't heard of reports yet of areas other than one in Alabama that has it. Someone on FB said they called C.S. and was told the national deals were working--but others said no. So I have not idea. I know before when they did this it was certain regions for like 6 weeks and then they switched.
