Share Your CVS Shopping Trip for the Weekly Ad of 2/5/2012

Simply CVS Gift Card ChallengeI never did get to CVS last week and a not sure this week will be any better--but I need to check my ECB expiration dates to be sure it is not necessary.  Did you find any good deals  from the CVS Weekly Ad of 2/5 to purchase?  Are you taking the Simply CVS. CVS Gift Card Challenge?  If you blog about your shopping trip I'd love for you to put a link to your post (a link back would be appreciated, but is not necessary); and if you don't blog please leave a comment below.  I really enjoy seeing what others get and it is a great way to learn how to CVS.  I learned from reading and reading and reading what others did. I am still learning!

If you have a linky on your blog and are linking up here, add "link up" to
your title below so readers can link up at your blog, too.
PLEASE NOTE:  ONLY link up to your CVS shopping post directly, all others will be removed.  I have had readers mention too many links are not to CVS shopping posts.
If you are doing the challenge please note that in your link title below.

Great deal on Flex-a-min. Received CVS coupon last week good for $4 off, coupled with my own $5 off manufacture's coupon and the CVS special of BOGO Free! Not bad for something that would normally cost about $40 for 2 bottles...I'm getting 2 bottles for approximately $10! I might add - I have $10 worth of ECBs to use from last week too!

Finally got back to CVS this week. Had to use my ECBs before they expired. I took a $10 deduction in ECBs but I paid nothing OOP and stocked up on my girls shampoo for nearly a year!

Just gum for me (so far). Extra gum is on sale this week for 3/$2. Last week I got a buy one, get one free scanner coupon for them, up to $1.29. I bought two packs of gum, the cashier put in the maximum amount for the coupon, so I paid FIVE CENTS for both packs of gum! I love that I can pick up stuff at CVS for mere change out of my coin purse! (this time it was the random pennies!)

I may go back for the Hershey's Bliss with the generic weekly scanner Q...

Well, I used to be big on rolling my ECBs and getting just the freebies and money makers, but now I use CVS to save on my total grocery bill even if that means (and I still wince a little) spending money or gift cards. I bought 3 General Mills cereals, 2 Gold Emblem Chips, 1 Gold Emblem Cheese Puffs, and Zarabees cough syrup. I used a $4 off $20, $10 ECBS I got from doing a survey, a $1 manf coupon and $6 ECBs. I paid 25 cents out of pocket and got $9ECBs back. I was okay with this since the survey was just bonus and my kids and husband love the snacks and cereal. I am such a happy CVS shopper. :)

Amie, you are right, they have amazing deals on other items and also it is great to use extra bucks built up from free/money making deals to get necessities.

Well, how can I explain this. Last week I did some shopping at CVS and got 25ECB, then this monday I went for a little trip plus my weekly walk to excercise, and got the Zarbee's which I paid with 6ECB that I had from the week before and I got them right back, that was cool. I also got the Blitex which I had a .35 coupon for, so I got back 7ECB making my total 26ECB which I used to buy the Scott toilet paper that I had 1off2 coupon for and also bought a box of cereal to get a 10 Cash Card, and now today I went used that gift card to buy 6 bottles of the Pert Plus bogo which I had coupons for, so I only use 6.78 out of the 10 Cash Card I received from them.

So according to my calculations, including the items I bought last week that were the Advil, the Tom's mouthwash, plus the Irish Spring and Soft Soap deal. My out of pocket total was $9.20 which is awesome because I did not realize how much money I could save, and how much I could buy by using CVS.

Pris, I am still amazed at what can be done at CVS and I have been shopping there for several years. You can just keep rolling the same bucks/gift cards over and over with very little out of pocket. So fun! Thanks for sharing.
