I keep seeing great printable coupons, like the ones below, that I'd love to use at CVS, but they have the Walmart logo on them. They are manufacturer coupons but CVS will no longer take coupons with competitor logos on them (this is from their frequently asked questions here on
CVS.com:
Q. What type of coupons does CVS/pharmacy accept? A. CVS/pharmacy accepts CVS/pharmacy Coupons (ExtraBucks® Rewards, offers at register or printed from CVS.com®) and valid internet/print at home coupons containing a barcode. We also accept original third party manufacturer coupons that contain a barcode and must not be a reproduction or a rebate.
Note: CVS/pharmacy will not accept third party manufacturers’ coupons with another retailer’s logo).

Anyone else frustrated?

Will the bar code work at cvs? If so, can you just cut off the walmart logo? Just wondering if the barcode is specific or not?
The logo is usually in the middle some place. But yes, the bar codes are just normal and scan fine.
Black it out with a sharpie.
the barcode works fine. It is very frustrating. the walmart logo is only to tell us we could find the product at walmart.. :(
I'm with everyone on this one. Completely frustrating. CVS is so much closer to me than Walmart, so not being able to use the coupons with the Walmart logo at CVS can really cut into my shopping plans sometimes.
Mine has never turned one away.
Yes, it's frustrating... I was unable to use the $1.00 off Blink Tears printable on the ECB deal on Tuesday because it said 'Redeemable at Walmart'. If I had known that, I would have brought one from an insert...Still got the Blink Tears & ECB.... but geesh!
i am a cashier at cvs and as long as it doesnt say to be used at Walmart only, and says manufactuer coupon on top then we will take it. if a cashier refuses to take it just point those facts out to them.
thank you anonymous.
but i have had mine refused and it didnt state "only" I also emailed cvs and they said they no longer accept them..
However, I am lucky enough to have a self-out store by me... no problems there
the eucerin one actually doesn't print with the logo on it. someone on another blog pointed it out and i printed to double check and no logo! i don't know about the other ones though.
Thanks, Anon, for that insight. That's even more frustrating, lol, because I just never waste the time, ink & paper to print them if they show Walmart at all.
I thought the ones that say "Available at Walmart" were okay to use (because they are just telling you that they have them at Walmart) but the ones that just say "Walmart" on them were Walmart specific MQ's. Is this not correct? Now I'm a little confused! :(
Thanks,
Tammy
Tammy, that is how it used to be, but last August they added that any coupon with a store logo was not to be accepted. But it is not in their written policy--just in the FAQ. So it may vary by store as it is not well known apparently. Also, as I said in an earlier comment since their new policy says anything not covered is up to the management of the store some stores may accept them. It is very confusing.
Thanks for clearing that up Cheryl. I guess if I ever have to use one I'll just have to wait and see what happens!! Ah...the mysteries of CVS'ing! :)
