A Note From Cheryl ~ Taking A Little Break This Week: But Still Posting

I suffer from Fibromyalgia and the winter months are very hard.  This week a cold spell has hit our area and I am struggling, to say the least.  A few months ago I began to also have severe headaches, and this week, they too seem to want to hang around. Simply CVS takes a lot of concentration, which is hard with the added pain and stiffness.  After struggling these first few days of the week I have decided I had better step back from my regular intense work here and "try" to cut back and stay off the computer as much as possible.

I am going to put up the regular deal posts, but I will be "borrowing" the information from a site I have permission to do so. I like to do my own coupon match-ups as I almost always find several to dozens of coupons not listed on other match-ups and many printables on other match-ups that are no longer available--I will try to check the printables and look for ones not posted.  But this week I will force myself to restrain and hopefully will be able to carry on normally next week.  I may not even make it to CVS this week :-(.  Thanks for understanding and for your patience.

I, too, wish you well. Take it easy on yourself and realize anything you do on this site is extra and blesses many people. No one expects you to sacrifice, though. Take care of yourself first and foremost.

Cheryl, your blog is one of the reason why I feel so confident using coupons at cvs. You have been so helpful to this beginner. I hope you feel better.

Cheryl ~ Hope you are feeling better soon. I can definately understand what you mean. I've had fibro for YEARS (before they even had a name for it) and have been working on finding the right medication for it. (Like my Dr. says - you will never be 100% but we can get you to at least function!) Still have good days & bad......and funny you mention it, but I'm going on day 3 of a headache as well. You need a break from all your hard work! I sincerely hope you feel better soon! I hate to sound selfish but I don't know what I'd do without your blog ~ fairly new to CVS shopping & refer to your blog, especially the "match-ups" constantly. SO, take care & try to relax as much as possible! I will be thinking about you!! :)

Thank you all so much.

Amy, I've emailed you. I'd love to hear of your plan and what has worked. CVS and church are my only outings each week. About once or twice or month I'm out of the house for something else. It is quite debilitating.

Tammy, I, too, have had it for 25+ years. Made dozens of trips for appointments and tests and no diagnosis. Every med I have tried had worse side effects than the symptoms. I sure wish I could get to where I could "function." So many years of this I doubt I'll ever be anywhere near even 50%. Okay, I obviously need to get off of this subject :-). Glad to hear Simply CVS has helped you.

Cheryl, Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Take good care of yourself first. I don't know what to say to take away any pressure you may feel to keep blogging for us CVSers. Just do it when it brings satisfaction and joy to your life. Stress always creates havoc on one's body especially when it is already compromised. I appreciate all that you have done to help me learn the best use of coupons and sales at CVS. You are such a giving person, it's time to give yourself what you need and deserve. Wishing you the best. -Carol

Hoping God will bless you this year as you have helped and as you can see by the posts inspired so many others...
I don't know how you manage to do all this by just going to CVS once a week, I can't figure it out and I'm in the store all the time. LOL.
Take care and let your body re-coup and recharge!!
P.S. From my experience diet plays a huge role in Fibromyalgia as well as severe headaches. Please consider this option. You can read up on this at different sites on the Web. One thing that is stressed is to get off of of all things white. White sugar, White flour etc.. I hope you will give this some thought.
Best Wishes for a Healthier year for you.

Thanks, Carol. I do feel pressure to keep up to date here, you are right. It is such a time sensitive subject. And I try to answer comments here and on the FB page several times a day to be timely. I'll think on what you said about giving myself something--it is not natural for me :-).

Anon, thanks for the reminder on the diet. I do eat very little sugar and white flour. Over the holidays I have had some, tho, and perhaps that has increased the symptoms, too. You may notice when I post my shops I rarely have sweets or junk food in my trips and when I do I'll mention where we are donating it to or sharing with it others as we do try. My oldest daughter even grinds grain to make all of our bread. So we really do try :-). But I know I have read things like: wheat, tomatoes, potatoes and peppers are supposed to be hard on Fibromyalgia, and I have experimented with cutting them out and haven't noticed they made a difference. Thanks sooooo much for taking the time to share your knowledge. If you have any other tips please let me know.

Cheryl ~ Tammy again.....yes, fibro for 30 yrs. at least with me. In 2011 I decided it was time to try to get control of this Fibro no matter what. My last Dr. transferred & I got a new one - this one is the only one I've had over the years who seems to be actually willing to work with me on this! (There's a concept after it seems like so many just "give up" or give you a hard time to begin with. (I think more Dr's are finally becoming more aware about fibro though as opposed to years ago). So, this past yr. I've been on many, many (many!) different meds, all with horrible side effects/too strong for me etc., especially since I have to work all day, every day. :( I have FINALLY found something that I can function on for the time being at least. I had to start on the lowest dose but have increased once and now I'm fairly comfortable. Better than I have in years anyway. If you would like to email me I can tell you what it is as it's a little "different" and expensive unless you have a good Rx plan! (Even more reason to SAVE at CVS! Ha, ha!) Sorry, I tend to go on and on....(!)

Dear Cheryl,
Your loyal followers will still be here for you. The information on your site is fantastic. Please do not burden yourself with anything that might compromise your health. I know you are dedicated to donating for OCC as well.
For the first time in my life I am dealing with a significant health issue and can truly appreciate your challenges. I know you are a person of faith, so I hope you will allow me to include you in my prayer time.
Peace,
Susan

Thank you so much, Susan. I would appreciate your prayers, truly. I, too, will pray for your health issues. Feel free to email me if you would like me to pray more specifically (contact info is at the bottom of this page). And, yes, I have tried this year to up my OCC involvement which is added work on my part (and hard physically), but oh so rewarding.
