Such good deals this week I had to run to CVS first thing before work :)

    2-Revlon nail clippers @ 3.19 each
    1-Candy canes @ 1.27
    3-American greetings cards @ .99
    6-bags hersheys candy @ 2.50 each

-1.00/2 greeting card coupon that printed today...yea!
    -(3) 1.00/2 hersheys bag candy

Total OOP= $22.XX (don't remember exact...way more OOP than usual)
ECB's earned = $12 (GBT + the candy canes didn't print the ecb's so the cashier manually entered it and it gave me $2! Bonus!)
Also, I earned $15 toward a GC by buying the candy which I needed anyway for some Christmas gifts :)

Great week, Rebecca! Yes, when they have to print extra bucks they always round up--so nice.

    Hi!

I wanted to say how much I love your site. I have been reading the posts and learning how to save money at CVS. I got interested in couponing from watching the Extreme couponing show on TLC. I started doing some research on it and found a few sites that have taught me so much. Including yours. In fact I check it daily just hoping fore a new post. lol So thank you so much.

I do have a couple of questions though. i have read through the informational posts and had not seen the answers to them, so forgive me if i just missed them. On the CVS gift cards, spend $30 and get $10 GC. Does the $30 accumulate from week to week or is it a weekly deal that starts over when the new AD comes out on Sundays? Also, I dont really understand the Beauty Club, spend $50 and get 5 ECB. I asked an employee and they told me that you had to buy $50 worth of beauty products that are not on sale. She signed me up and gave me a receipt with a bar code on it. It said i had three days to use it. I just dont understand the concept of it since they print the Beauty Club in the Ad with the products on sale. Was hoping someone could clarify for me.

Again, thanks so much for all your information. It has been a learning experience for me. I have made some mistakes by trying to get too much in one transaction rather than separating them and ended up paying way more oop than I needed to. It is a little overwhelming and confusing trying to figure it all up the right way. but I think if i slow down and not feel like I have to get all the deals, it will get simpler. lol And my husband thinks it is way cool too. he is even talking about building me some shelves for our up coming stock pile. lol

Sorry for rambling but I have lurked for so long and had never posted my thoughts. Looming forward to learning more about CVS'ing and saving my family money!

Welcome to Simply CVS (officially) and to CVSing, Christy.
    1) It does not accumulate week to week on the GC deals.
2)All of the beauty items listed as counting towards the $50 can be on sale and you can use coupons or extra bucks--it is whatever it scans for. I believe when you sign up you get a 10% off coupon that is good only three days. If you are signed up you don't have to do anything else. I would call 800shopcvs and be sure you got signed up correctly, tho, just to double check. You can watch the bottom of your receipt for a tally of how much you have spent (it updates 48 hours after purchase).

Starting slow is a good idea--and we all make mistakes even after years of CVSing. The deals will come around again. I know it is exciting and you want to do great and get it all even at first (we all do) but it will take a while, and even when you make a mistake and pay a little more you are still saving money.

You will need those shelves before too long :-). Glad to have been a help in your becoming a CVSer! Enjoy.

Anon, if I may chime in about your beauty club question. I try to maximize my beauty club spending by doing the following:

First, Cheryl is right, the items can be on sale to qualify. If you go on cvs.com and find the beauty club banner, it takes you to a site where you can see the type of items that count towards it.

Second, once you accumulate a stockpile of enough of each items, look out for deals (that have extra bucks or not), that when using coupons will cost you close to nothing. This is what I do. Sometimes I see a beauty item on clearance (ex, the last few weeks I found Biore cleansers on clearance for $3.94, and I had several $2/1 coupons, so I'd get them for $1.94, knowing that I would accumulate $3.94 more for the beauty club.

Third, if an extra buck deal one week is not TOO great, but it counts for the beauty club, it might be worth it, because you can add up to your $50 total BEFORE coupons.

Fourth, I check my CVS account online to make sure my beauty club purchases are adding up correctly, and always look out for my extra bucks.

    Hope these hints help :)

A short but good week at CVS: Also, we didn't get the greeting cards deals in Phoenix.

First, I tried to do one more gift card deal from last week on Sat. night, but because of the ad switch the Nature Made vitamins didn't count towards the gift card, but they gave me $10eb instead.

Total- coupons: $13.84-$12= $1.84. Paid with $1.49 eb, paid the rest + tax with Swagbucks gift card, got $2 back for the candy canes (it didn't print so the cashier did it manually and it rounded up to $2). Also, i added $7.58 towards the beauty club.

Total - coupons: $25.98-$20.49= $5.49, paid with $5.49 extra bucks, got $10 eb for the razors, and added $5.00 towards the gift card deal. I haven't decided if I will do a gift card deal yet, I am considering doing the B1G1 50% deodorant and Dunkin Donuts coffee deal since there are coupons for both, and still have a $5/$30 coupon but still considering... will let you know :)

    Trans. #3 (Glade/Pledge Deal)
    4 Pledge cleaner - $3 ea= $12
1 Crest w/ scope (unadvertised deal, get @2 eb)- $2.67

    Happy shopping everyone!

Thanks, Martha, for the beauty club tips.

We didn't get the greeting cards, either. Nice on the Nature Made scanner coupon. That $5/30 will be perfect for your final trip for the GC deal. You surely had a great week so far--with more to come.

Thank you for the info to you both! I did check my on line account and I saw where I was enrolled and the accumulation so far. I will definitely take those suggestions to maximize my savings! I've never been excited to go to the store before. lol I have already saved so much even though I did pay a lot of oop at first, like you said Cheryl. I have even been able to help out my brother in law and sister in law who are having a hard time right now. 8o) I will be keeping my eyes on the posts and continue to work at it!

Wow, Renee, you have really got it going this week! There have been problems with the candy cane ecbs printing--I would go ahead and take the receipt back and ask, if they won't print them call 800shopcvs and they should set you up from there.
