My "MINI" CVS Shopping Trip 12/4 Ad ~ A Money Maker: Trip #15 of the $50 Gift Card Challenge

Since Sarah, my designated driver, had her wisdom teeth cut out last Thursday I figured she would not be up to CVSing with me on Monday like normal so I had my hubby and other daughter stop in Sunday night and grab one deal for me just in case we can't get out later in the week.

When we got Sarah's prescriptions after her surgery the cashier taped one of the employee/friend 30% off coupons on the bag that was good Saturday &
Sunday.  So I sent it along and told him to just try it on this deal--sometimes it takes something off regularly priced items with extra bucks back and sometimes not.  It did take it off, so made the deal even sweeter.

In last week's CVS shopping trip I used all of my extra bucks to do the gift card deals so all I had on hand to spend from my $50 challenge was cash/gift cards--so my out of pocket was higher than normal.  I was thrilled to have this little money maker to start building my extra bucks back.  These two items will go into my Operation Christmas Child stockpile for next year's boxes.

I am currently doing a $50 Beginner's CVS Gift Card Challenge seeing how much I can get for a $50 gift card I earned on Swagbucks with a new CVS Extra Care Card just like a new shopper would be able to get.  The challenge will end when I run out of gift card and cash to be able to pay the tax.  I will  most likely have extra bucks left over, but without cash to pay the tax they are basically useless so this challenge will end.

$50 Beginner's CVS Gift Card Challenge Balances:

Total Saved:  $  971.55 (including tax)
Total Spent:  $  45.96 (including tax)
Total Value of Products Purchased:  $  (without tax)
Gift Card Balance:  $  30.56*  (began with a $50 GC earned on Swagbucks)
Gift Cards Earned Balance :  $  23.48* (these are CVS gift cards earned on deals purchased with this $50 GC)
Cash from Rebates Balance:  $  9.56* (from rebates sent in on products purchased with this gift card--less stamps)
Extra Buck Balance:  $  6.00* (I began with no extra bucks with this gift card)
*Total CVS Spending Power Balance: $69.60

This week's trip's details:

Saved:  $ 4.03 + $ .21 tax = $ 4.24 (some of my tax is paid on coupon values, this is the tax on the total product less the tax I paid--that is all I saved on tax)
Spent:  $ 3.75 + $ .32 tax = $ 4.07
Beginning Extra Bucks Balance: $ .00
Total Extra Bucks used:  $ .00
Total Extra Bucks earned:  $ 6.00

Buy two Revlon products get $6 Extra Bucks:

Check out these and all of this week's deals.  Also, read how I have learned (from others) how to "stack" the coupons in the right order to pay for tax.  Some states have to pay tax on extra buck usage and some don't so it may or may not affect your CVS shopping.  And if you don't have any, or many, extra bucks check out how to have the least out of pocket cash when beginning or check out these scenarios for spending less than $5 or $10 out of pocket for several items.
