CVS Ad Scan Preview for the Week of 1/1/2012

Here is the CVS ad scan preview for the week of January 1, 2012.  I will be putting up coupon match-ups for the deals before that week.  Meanwhile, you can see if there are any coupons you'd like to print for items on sale at RedPlumSmartSource, Coupon Network or Coupons.  Remember, you can almost always print two of each coupon.

Thanks to Didie at We Use Coupons for the CVS ad scan.

If you'd like to find other coupons for CVS sale items I do not do each week, check out these instructions on where to find them

Hi Cheryl -
Thanks for the "heads-up" for next week - looks like some good shopping to be had!
I have a question and I know the answer is on your site somewhere, I just can't seem to find it right now. It's regarding B1G1 sale...can I use 2 manf. coupons, 1 for each item? Next week I see they have Bayer, B1G1 1/2 off - can I use 1 coupon for item # 1 and another coupon for the 1/2 off item? Or would only 1 coupon be allowed?
Thanks again Cheryl for your great favorite!! :)

Tammy, CVS no longer accepts a coupon for the "free" item. So one coupon per two items on a B1G1 sale. And yes, on the B1G1 50% off you can use one on each :-). So glad you enjoy Simply CVS--thanks for letting me know.

Thank you Cheryl! I'm new to CVS shopping and had a hard time the first (many!) trips, but it's getting easier I think....I'm still learning! Last trip I did really good with little OOP so I was thrilled!! I love your "Match-ups" because they are so easy to follow! I actually got a CVS gift card for Christmas and a nice organizer, so this year I'm looking for to many great deals - I just always have to check Simply CVS multiple times before I go!! :) Thanks again for all your hard work!

Tammy, it takes a while to get the hang of it and really have that low OOP, but even while you are learning you are saving lots :-). So glad to have you aboard!

Chery, Cheryl, Cheryl....Since I have found WUC and now YOU and this site I am so excited, that I may actually be able to do the things I've been wanting to do. You have so much information and I love it!! I found your site today and WUC 3 days ago. Unfortunately, my family doesn't recognize me anymore since my face is buried in the computer....I'm sure it will fade, but I really don't want to lose out on these wonderful, or what seem like wonderful deals these first few weeks of the year. I'm going to try your $50 card challenge! AWESOME idea to do that. I have a question about the cards. There is wording that I read that says to the effect: Until supplies run out. So should I ask the cashiers or call before I make my shopping trips? It may not matter because I will always need to go as soon as I'm able...I'm thinking it's when the store opens that first day of the ad. During the winter here in our little town of Yuma AZ. we have an abundance of what we call snowbirds or winter visitors. So unless I get there before they do...the stock is pretty well gone. I've heard about rainchecks, but the 2 CVS's in our town will not issue the ECB's on the rainchecks. (This has just barely been implemeted) I didn't ask, so I will call, but I think this is after the sale has ended if they don't get the product in before that time. So, on this, the question to you is, if I cannot or do not think I will get all that I plan to get of an item, should try to pre-order? I won't hesitate to go through a clipping service but if they are not here til after the sale has started it doesn't do too much good unless I can pre-order and have it waiting, ECB's, and isn't that the key to not spending the $$ oop? Rolling those ECB's and Cards, are we calling them Cash Cards now? Like CC? One last thing....I have just happened to stumble on several times on the WUC site the Ad Previews with the coupons that will be coming out. I have been told they are in the main forum...I have yet to discover where to find it on purpose. lol . If you know can you help, or can you direct me to the person who can?I have a ton more things to ask but I will stop and read up more. So I don't waste your precious time! Thank you, again so very much. This is truly the first time in a couple of years that I have been happy and felt purpose in my life. Great work you're doing Lori By the way...I went out last night to CVS and did a little deal....for $35.90 worth of retail products I paid $4.68, of which $2.87 was tax. Walked out the door with $5.00 ECB and I am working on the $5.00 rebate now. It was a good little deal for me..If I had have had the coupons it would have been sweeter, but oh time!
Have a happy and wonderful New Year! Lori

Hi, Lori, and welcome to CVSing and to Simply CVS! I'll try to answer all of your questions--if I miss some, ask again. :-)

First let me say--it will take a little time to really get the hang of it. I have a lot of info here because there are many steps to saving, but even a very simple start will save you money. I like to say "by the inch it's a cinch, by the yard it's hard." Before you know it you will be saving tons.

Cards running out: I have not heard of this problem yet, and since this is an ongoing program I doubt they will. The coupon you receive has a long expiration date, not just that week, so if they would be out of the cards, they should be getting more in. But to be safe, as you are ready to check out you can ask if they have stock of them. I have read of stores giving substitutes--a different card or issuing a rain check when they were waiting for cards in past (not the cash card deals but the other gc deals).

Do ask at your store about rain checks. If they say no, call 800shopcvs and ask about it--tell them you understood CVS issued RCs for ECB deals but your stores said no, is that correct? Just to be sure that is something the store manager can choose--I did not think it was, but perhaps they can, things keep changing. Also ask what day they get their truck in--that is always a good day to shop.

Most stores will allow you to pre-order and that is what is great about having the ads ahead of time. Ask your local managers. And yes, you need the ECB deals to really save.

"Didie" is a great gal at WUC to contact for questions there. You can easily find her posts in the CVS forum. I have the next week's ad here on Mondays and the ECB matchups on Wednesdays--the links are always right under the banner.

Sounds like you have a great start already!! And have fun on your challenge.
