I went in today for the $30 gift card deal from this past week. Had some trouble with it...turns out they had switched to the other ad already. However, one of the cashiers mentioned that the $30 is now after coupons, not before. Have you heard this yet or had any problems?
I just came back from a 24 hour CVS where I picked up some items for this week's sales 11/13. The Nature Valley granola thins are definitely included in the 2/$5 toward the free $10 gift card. Yay!

I've done the $30 gift card deal multiple times over the last 2 weeks, and it definitely has NOT been "after coupons." I don't even know how the register could track that sort of thing. Once you buy $30 worth of included merchandise, you will get a $10 gift card thing that prints out at the end of your receipt that you exchange for the gift card of your choice. (I've been getting the AMEX one since you can use it anywhere.) Also, just so you know, you don't have to buy everything all at once...you can separate it into multiple purchases, and it tracks at the bottom of your receipt. AND you can do up to FIVE a week. (So once your tracked total gets up to $60, you will get a 2nd gift card thing printed out on your receipt.)
Personally, I'm not thrilled with this week's gift card selection, so I probably won't be doing it again. But if there is stuff on the list that you want/need, and have coupons, it might be a pretty good deal!
Anon, like Kristin said, too, I have not heard anything about this. Often customers are told things like this in certain stores, but if they go ahead and buy the items with coupons the cash register prints their ECB or coupon anyways. I'll certainly post if this is changed--so you will see it here.
