We didn't get the buy 3 cards get $3 deal (Boston). Here's what I got:

    Schick quattro cartidges $8.99
    Illy canned coffee $2.00
    2 Dawn dish $1.98
Travel size nail polish remover $1.19 (needed this)
    Filipo Berio olive oil $3.99

    Q's:
$5 off Schick IP (I love holding on to printables and a sale rolls around)
Free Illy Scanner Q (took off $2.49, yay overage)
2 X 25c Dawn (Home made simple booklet)
$1.50 off Filipo Berio (an RP deal of the day IP)

Paid with $8 ECB and 73c OOP, got back $4 for the Schick and $1 GBT.

This CVS only had $10+ Aveeno lotions, so I'll try another store to find the 2.5 oz tube your post mentioned.

Nice trip, Anon, even without the Aveeno and cards. We didn't get the card deal either, I will have to see about the Aveeno this afternoon when I go. I have a small store so probably not. Hope you find it.

Anon, I will get my first GC this week with the CG deal--so excited, hope they have stock. Great trip--I guess you did make up for missing last week.

I find that now that I have been couponing for a while, I am able to figure out new ways to use FREE item coupons. One way I like to make my FREE item coupons last is to use them when it will get me extra money off my entire purchase, and Extra Bucks (or other rewards). The image above is my CVS haul from last week. Altogether it cost me $2.49 Here is what I did:

    Bought:

    1-Huggies Little Mover's Slip On's Regular Price= $12.50

1-John Frieda Precision Foam Hair Color $11.99

    4-Starbursts sale priced 2 for $2

    1- Hershey's Fun Size Halloween Candy 22oz for $7.99

    Total Before Coupons: $36.48

    Used:

CVS Coupon for $5 off wyb $30

$3/1 Huggies Little Movers (SS 10/23)

$1/1 Huggies Diapers (CVS Coupon Machine)

Try Me FREE John Frieda Foam Hair Color (CVS Sample)

2- Buy1 Get1 FREE Starburst Coupon (CVS Coupon) ***no longer available

$5 off Hershey's Fun Sized (CVS Halloween Trick-or-Treat Bags)

    $1/1 Hershey's Fun Sized (bricks.coupons.com)

Total After Coupons (Before Tax): $7.49

    Got Back:

$3 Extra Bucks wyb $10 of John Frieda

$1 Extra Bucks for Green Bag Tag

$1 Extra Bucks for Wrigley Singles (starburst)

    subtotal of ECB's: $5

Total Price Paid after Coupons and ECB's = $2.49 for everything pictured above!

By waiting to use the FREE John Frieda Coupon until there was an ECB deal made it a $3 Moneymaker. In addition, I got the $5 off wyb $30 coupon, and it counted before coupons. Altogether I got a killer deal on everything! The point is, don't just use a try me free coupon right away, wait until the best possible deal is available then score really big.

    Thanks, Shopnsavemommy.com

Tiffany, Nice job. I used to be in such a hurry to use free coupons, but then I learned--wait and you may just save more. Like you said with an extra buck deal or with a $/$$ coupon. Even a sale will net you less tax to pay.

    Cheryl said...

Elizabeth, great trip! Nice on the gum stash for the OCC boxes. Surprise extra bucks are always fun!

    Cheryl said...

Very nice money maker for you, Magda! Super on the raincheck for the Almay combination with the gift card deal. I see you had the Quattro printable--I remember posting about it, but I didn't print it--UGH! Hate when I do that. sometimes I am so excited to share here I forget to grab the deal for myself. lol

    Magda said...

    Thanks Cheryl.

Yep still had one Quattro for women coupon left.

I gave 2 Quattro men coupons to my 2 favorite CVS employees. They are always so nice =D They always ask me how I do the transactions so I put together a couple of simple transactions and gave them coupons so they can do it too. Can't wait for next week to hear how it went.

    Kelly said...

I got the gift card by purchasing 9 Pantene's. My plan was to submit my receipt, and others, to the P&G pink rebate of by $50 get $10 (http://pgpinkrebate.com/pink_rebate.pdf). However, I've never submitted a mail in rebate if I used ECB to make the purchase. Do you know if it'll work? My concern is that the receipt total is only $3 yet I bought $31 worth of Pantene.

    Cheryl said...

Nice, Magda, it will be fun hearing what they have to say.

    Cheryl said...

Kelly, shoppers use extra bucks all the time for rebate items. I am going to be doing this rebate, too. Just circle the individual products and prices.

Ladies be on the lookout for special marked L'oreal mascara and eye pencils. My CVS was putting up a Holiday display and I found L'oreal mascara and eye pencils marked $4.99 (but they were still ringing up $8.49 so watch the register). I bought 3 because it is my favorite mascara, but I am sure if you bought two you will still get your $3 ECB, get $10 applied to your Beauty Club account, and dont forget your $1/1 L'oreal coupons.

Also they had the Heidi Klum gift sets for $14.99, used (2) $5/1 coupons from the Walmart circular in the Sunday parade; so I was able to get 2 gift sets for $20 and earned $5. Using them for Christmas gifts.

    Cheryl said...

    Nice, Maggie! Love those $4/20's.

    Cheryl said...

Great finds, Cam!! My CVS doesn't have any Christmas out yet, but since Halloween is over it will be out soon.

Wow, Martha, you had a wonderful week! Great coupons for sure. Really shows up that you print those great coupons, too, when they are available. That really helps out so often.

Wow--you should give us all some Swagbucking tips, lol. That's great you can get so many so quickly. I have been able to keep up with enough to keep my oop each week paid by free gift cards. so fun.

    Anonymous said...

Cheryl- I am truly happy with this week. I have been couponing for about 5 months now and it is truly fun. Once you get used to the deals that come and go and come again, you know what coupons are worth printing and keeping in your file for future deals.

I must admit I am a little addicted to Swagbucks. Some things I do to help me get as many points as possible:

    1. I have 3 computers at home and all of them have the toolbar installed so if I have to print off multiple coupons, I am always using the toolbar to get to them.

    2. I check the swagbucks email constantly, so many deals are offered through them, even if it is just watching a video a day for 3 points.

    3. Surveys are my thing. I truly enjoy taking them, I try to do about 2-5 a day, my goal is 100 points a day using surveys.

    4. I do tasks about 2-3 times a week. These do take a long time in my opinion, but if for example only one survey was available for me in one day, I'll do a task to get to my 100 point daily goal.

    5. Daily points is an easy 1 point a day.

    6. I keep an eye out on several forums for free swagbucks codes.

    7. Finally, most coupons from coupons.com can be printed from the coupons link from the swagbucks menu, once redeemed, it gives you points. I figure, I am going to print and use them anyway, might as well get points for them.

    Hope this helps others!
    ~Martha

Thanks, Martha, for the tips. I have never done a task yet because of the time. I have written several posts about what is available at Swagbucks--but hearing what one person actually has found to work for them is helpful. For others who want to see what all is available, here is a post with an index to all of the Swagbucks 101 lessons I have done:
