- PLEASE NOTE: ONLY link up to your CVS shopping post directly, all others will be removed. I have had readers mention too many links are not to CVS shopping posts.
If you are doing the challenge please note that in your link title below.

10/23/2011 My best CVS trip so far: started with a $2 ECB
4)Bags of Snickers Snack Size Bars
4)Progresso Soups
4)Bags Skittles
3)Glade Sense and Spray
2)Summers Eve Wipes
1)Covergirl Blush
1)Covergirl Bronzer
1)Tube of Carmex
1)Gold Emblem Harvest Mix
1)Visine
Total Value:$103.35
Paid: $26.42
$14.00 ECB Back
My trip had a few mistakes :( but mostly fixable.
2 2oz bags Skittles 1.00
1 Starburst flavor morph 0.50
1 Starburst tropical 0.79 (apparently NOT included in the buy 4 Wrigley's singles get $1, so weird. Also rang up 0.79 not 0.50, I didn't catch this until later)
1 Gold Emblem candy corn 0.99
1 NYC nail polish 0.99
2 Summer's Eve wipes (BOGO) 2.99
Gillette small can of shaving cream, 2.19 get $2 ecb, had a tag at my store
Coupons:
BOGO Skittles or Starburst scanner Q, automatically took off 1.19
BOGO Starburst Q (IP) had to be manually entered, took off 50c
$1/2 small bags Skittles (IP from a while ago) also had to be manually entered in, register did not like it
Paid with $5 ecb and 1.82 oop.
Got back $2 Gillette, 99c candy corn
The $1 for Skittles/Starburst didn't print (as noted above for some reason the tropical didn't count towards it) I went back and they force printed the $1 for me :)
Then realized I never used my $1 off NYC scanner Q! Oops, too many coupons/confusion. I'll take that back and rebuy it w/ the coupon sometime this week.
Great trip, Frazzled.
Anon, there is so much to watch and to remember. Nice that your "errors" could pretty much be easily fixed.
I don't see the linky to link up my trip. Am I missing it?
It was there earlier, but Simply-linked website is down now so it isn't showing up. Hopefully they will be back up soon. I added a note in the post so others will know. Thanks.
I didn't do too much at CVS this week but I got some great stocking stuffers. Christmas is coming up too fast!
4 Starburst singles = $2.00
- 2 B1G1, took off $1.00
4 NYC Nail Polish $0.99 each, B1G1 50% off = $2.96
- 2 $1.50/2
- 1 $1.00/1 (coupon machine)
2 Extra Gum = $2.00
- $1.00/2
1 Carmex Moisture Plus = $1.29
- $0.50/1
- mail in rebate on package!
Subtotal: $8.25 - $6.50 (Qs) - $1.00 (EB) = $0.75 + $0.06 (tax) = $0.81 OOP
And I received 2 $1.00 EBs. One for the Starburst and one for my Green Bag Tag so actually a money making trip. Love it!
Nice on the Carmex--can you share what the package looks like and where you found it, Jennifer. Gotta love money making trips--I had one today, too.
Here is a link to the rebate form, it includes a picture of the product: http://www.mycarmex.com/cvsrebate/CarmexMoisturePlusCVSRebateForm.pdf
I found mine on a small lip care display near the soap and body washes. There were some with the lip products in the cold/sinus aisle but none with the rebate packaging. Hope this helps!
Okay, that is the same one I posted about. It has been $3 something at my CVS and I thought yours must be a different one--since it was on the package. I need to see if there is another one cheaper--smaller. My daughter did see a display hanger of them last week not put out yet--maybe that is them. Thanks so much for the info.
Strange CVS experience this week. I saw on here and on another site the ECB deal for Gold Emblem candy corn $.99 and get $.99 back but I didn't see it in my ad. I didn't think that CVS did regional ads/deals. I am going to be really bummed if they start doing that unless, Cheryl, you continue this website but move to Southern CA. You can't beat the weather. There still was a deal on the candy corn but no ECB. Here is my transaction:
2 Bags of Candy Corn $.10 each=$.20
1 cover girl blush $4.99
1 cover girl blush $6.49
2 Orbit gum $1.49 each=$2.98
1 Dr. Pepper 10 $1.99
-$4 ECB
-B1G1 orbit gum from CVS scanner $1.37
-Man q for Free Dr. Pepper $1.99
-Man. q for Cover Girl $8
Total:1.39+$1.19 tax
PS I also took advantage of the Right Guard deodorant deal last week. $1.24 down here but got the $1 ECB. My boyfriend had just said that he needed deodorant so perfect timing. Thank you, Thank you! And my boyfriend thanks you too!
I am new to this..You can try the CVS Gift Card Challenge anytime?
THanks
Now there's an idea, Kristen, I have never been to Southern California. Bummer on the candy. I know once in a while they try different ads in test areas to see how they go, but I haven't read of anything recently. Great trip, though, and glad to hear you were able to score the deodorant just in the nick of time.
Yes, Renee, we all are doing them anytime--different amounts of GC--whatever works for each of us. I am in the middle of my "beginners" challenge, then I am going to do some other ones--like groceries, donations, health items, whatever. It's just a fun game to play together to see how far we can stretch them at CVS.
I don't know what it is, but it seems that I am taking every other week off from CVS shopping due to the lack of good deals.
I'm looking forward to see what you came up with Cheryl.
