Cheap Pumpkin Pie Ingredients at CVS Week of 10/30 ~ With Sale & Printable Coupon

Check your ad for the 10/$10 grocery items.  Mine shows Libby's Pumpkin and Carnation Evaporated Milk--but it says varies by store so will have to check in the store, too.  I found a $1/2 Carnation Milk Printable coupon that will make it just $.50 a can (you can print two a month it says).  Oh, and there were Carnation coupons listed as in the SS 9/25 & 10/30--it must have been regional as I didn't have either. I believe next week the Pumpkin is listed at $1.50 on sale (I'll have the ad up this afternoon).

Note: There was a Libby's fruit coupon in a recent insert.  I never could find the answer if this was allowed to be used on pumpkin.  It is a fruit, but Libby's canned fruit is in the fruit section of the store and the pumpkin in the baking and since they offer Pumpkin coupons sometimes I am assuming it cannot be used.

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1/2 tsp. of cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup of chocolate chips or vegan chocolate chips (publix sells those)

1. preheat oven to 350. line muffin pan with cupcake liners
2. in medium bowl, stir together pumpkin, oil, sugar, milk, & vanilla. Sift in flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon & salt. Once well combined (dont over combine) fold in chocolate chips.
3. fill liners two-thirds full. Bake 22-24 minutes. And cool.
Complete
hope everyone tries them they are soo good I first made it with the vegan chocolate chips and soy milk and then made it with regular I can not taste the difference. Great both ways

Thanks, Elena, I'm printing it now and tucking it in my baking notebook. We love pumpkin muffins and chips--so perfect combo. By the way there is a choc chip printable at the same link above.

I went to my CVS today and they did not even have a spot for the carnation evap. milk or the pumpkin pie can. I asked for a raincheck and she said she can't give me one because they don't get Thanksgiving stuff in. She said they skip to Christmas stuff. I said the food was in their ad. She said the ad was printed weeks ago and that they no longer have any. I said, so you had them and you sold out or you are never getting them? She said she can't reorder them and she refused to give me a raincheck. WHAT?!?!?!? Is that even right? Doesn't she HAVE to give me a raincheck? Another store did not have a a place for a seasonal product before and the manager wrote a raincheck in case they got it in later in the season and they did. So I was able to use my raincheck for that. So frustrated! Never heard of NOT offering a raincheck. I think I will go back when someone else is working.

Anon, my store didn't have it in either yet. My manager went thru all of the totes from today's truck looking for it. If you look in next week's ad the pumpkin is in there at $1.50. I asked if I could get a raincheck and she said it was seasonal and they didn't usually give them for that but to tell the cashier she said I could get one.

If you notice in the ad it says "varies by store" or something like that so I guess they wouldn't have to give a rain check because it isn't actually listed and says may vary. But they usually do.

You can check another store and you can always call 800shopcvs and ask what their policy is about rain checks. Tell them what you wanted it for. I have read of times when they write a rain check and mail it to a customer. I hope you can get it some way.

Yeah, I called the other store that I usually have luck with and he said they can't give the raincheck because it is seasonal. Funny thing is he said the instant coffee things were seasonal too but he gave me a raincheck for that before.

I think I will call the 1800 number. That is why I wanted to get a raincheck- because it is going up to $1.50 next week. $1.00 isn't a super fantastic price when compared to grocery stores but I had so many moneymakers that I would like to use it on something I would get anyway. So even though it costs more than the grocery stores, I am not putting any money out for it.

Also, the guy said that there has been a shortage of pumpkins this year with the way the weather has been. I think Hurricane Irene did a lot of damage. It's hard to remember that it comes from a crop because it comes from a can...lol. But yes, it does. I can't wait to make pumpkin pie with my free cinnamon cool whip from Giant the other week!

Yes, Anon, there is a shortage this year--that is why I surprised at the price and that they had it advertised. I hope they get it in. The cheapest I have seen for Libby's is $1.88--no sales yet. I am trying to get it early to be sure we have it. We love pumpkin muffins around here, too.
