Superpoints 101 ~ Another Source for Earning Paypal and Gift Cards Online

Earlier this month I was introduced to Superpoints thru an invite from FrugalMom of Frugality Is Free who seems to cash in for a $5 prize almost every other day (well, maybe not, but it seems like it).  At first I thought it was not going to be as great a place to earn as SwagBucks or MyPoints, but after just a few weeks I have already been able to cash out at least once a week for a $5 prize or more (gift cards or Paypal).  So it has become my second favorite place to earn after SwagBucks.  The key is to complete your profile, be patient with slow
days and build up five to ten active referrals beneath you.

Joining the Superpoints Network
  • Superpoints is currently open to new members by referral link or email from another member only.
    • When you  first sign up you only have two invites to share, as you work your way up by having referrals sign up, you eventually will have 15 invites.
    • Below are a few invite links for those who want to join.  They are only good for one time and expire in 7 days.  I will update them as they are used or expire. If you want an invite and there are no active ones left here email me (simply blogs @ live.com) and I will send you one.
    • You can also find invite links from readers at this post:  Share Your Invite Links with Simply CVS Readers Here.
    • Once you sign up be sure to fill out your account information (to earn more spins) and verify your email address so you will start receiving daily bonus point emails.
    • Also, after you sign up come back, click this link and Share Your Invite Links with Simply CVS Readers Here if you have extras (please do not leave links in the comments below--go to the post that the link above takes you to).
The Four Levels of Superpoints Members

  • No Level--sign up and you will be at "None."  You will not be able to redeem for prizes and you are limited to 5 clicks of the SuperLucky Button a day and two invite tokens.
  • Basic Level--validate your email and complete your basic information to upgrade to Basic.
    • You will be able to cash out at 2,500 ($25) points and get 30 clicks per day on the Super Lucky button and will have five invite tokens.
    • You will receive emails daily with Superpoints in them.
    • You will be able to take surveys, but will have low priority for invitations to take them.
  • Gold--do all of the above and have two friends at the Basic level or above, complete advanced profile and add a picture to your profile (doesn't have to be of yourself).
    • You will be able to cash out at 1,000 points ($10) and get 50 clicks per day and ten invite tokens.
    • You will still have low priority for surveys, be able to recruit for surveys and get points when friends take surveys (I am confused on this as I have seen friends of mine take surveys and I did not get them so I am not clear on this--since it is all still quite new to me I can't say for sure how this works).
    • You will win what your friends win on the Super Lucky Button.
  • Platinum--do all of the above and have five friends at the Basic level or above.
    • You will be able to cash out at just 500 points ($5) and get 100 clicks per day and 15 invite tokens.
    • You will receive high priority on survey invitations, be able to recruit for surveys, get points when friends take surveys.
    • You will receive one bonus point everyday that you log in and spin the Super Lucky Button.
    • You will win what your friends win on the Super Lucky Button.
How to Earn Superpoints

  • The Super Lucky Button is the easiest way to earn. With each spin you have a chance to earn from one to 400 points (but mostly I win 1, 2 & 5).
    • The higher your member level the more daily spins you will receive as noted above.  At Gold and Platinum you will earn the wins from your referrals' spins also--there is no limit at this time as to how many points you can earn from referrals.
    • I have found that I can make the page tiny and then restore the window down and have it open all day while I am working online and easily click on it without spending any time (see image below--I also have a small window for Swag Bucks t.v. going).
    • I try to spin in increments of three--not sure this helps, but it seems like I win more if I spin it 3 to 5 times consecutively.
    • When I win one I will spin it three more times; I am not sure this increases my wins, but it seems like I win more when I do it in a series with a win.
    • Some days I seem to earn only a few points from my 100 spins and others I will win well over 50.  I believe I average about 25 to 30 daily to date.  Along with the other points it will be easy to get at least $10 a month without referrals' spins.
  • You will also receive daily Super Lucky emails with points--just click to go to the website and you will get the points.
    • They seem to run just like the spins from one to 400.
  • Members receive 25 points for each referral that reaches a basic membership.
  • You can also do surveys, watch videos and complete offers for points, much like Swag Bucks.

am checking out the latest giveaways on Frugality Is Free or posting at Simply CVS).

Redeeming Superpoints for Prizes
  • Each point is equal to one cent.
  • As noted above in the member levels you can redeem anywhere from a  minimum of 500 to 2,500 points depending on your level.  The higher levels can choose to redeem at higher levels of course, but the lower levels cannot redeem until they earn the higher amount of points.
  • They offer Paypal and a variety of gift cards including:  Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Dominos, etc.  They also offer some electronics, toys & games.
  • The prizes are awarded Monday or Tuesday for redemptions made the previous week.
  • Unfortunately they do not offer CVS gift cards like Swag Bucks & MyPoints.  But the Paypal can be used for CVS shopping.

Be sure and read the terms of service carefully.  They are sticklers for abiding by them.  Apparently they have been around for a few years, but closed down for a time recently because of fraud on the part of members so they are strict.

If you'd like to give it a try click thru one of the links above and sign up, it's free.  Be sure to fill out your basic profile and confirm thru your email so you can reach Basic Level and have more opportunities for earning.  I would really suggest committing a trial period of two to three weeks to see how it goes.  Like I said, I was quite discouraged at first, but I  have been able to cash out each week so far with very little time invested.

EDITING 5/19/2012:  Superpoints instituted some changes to their site as outlined in this blog post of theirs:  http://blog.superpoints.com/?p=504 .

All information in this post was accurate at the time of posting--Superpoints may at times change how they do things.

You know I love Superpoints! I just redeeemed for another $5 gift card today, making it a total of $45. $25 of which I have received already:)

My big tip, is to get the five referrals so that you can reach platinum and be able to cash out at 500.

Wow! Is that just for August? I'm glad you were persistent in talking me into trying it :-). I also saw you won a nice 25 on the spin today and got to share that with a new sign up, too.

Thanks, I've replaced them.

I just used this link.

Thanks! I hope this is as good as swagbucks!

Thanks, Rachel. I still like Swagbucks best. And it is important to get at least 5 friends signed up to get the most out of it (more spins daily, etc.). You can earn from your referrals forever, where at SBs you don't, that is nice. some days I earn a lot on the button and some not so many. Some emails I get one or two points, but some I get 10 or 25. I have found being consistent is the most important thing and finding referrals.

TheScogg, I have deleted your comment here and moved it to the post where I ask readers to share their invite codes. I don't want them on this one. Thanks.

Cheryl said...

Anon, I moved your referral links, too.

Readers, please don't leave referral links on this post, I have another post where you can leave them:

Sunil, I removed your comment with the links--please see the comment above.

I have yet to join superpoints, but it sounds promising! Thanks for explaining it so clearly. I do have a question though, I see that if someone clicks on your link, you get whatever they win on their spins as well, correct? Does this also work for them, like if you spin 200, do they get it as well? Is it sharing among all or just for the person who originally shared the link? Thanks for any info!

Cheryl said...

Hi, Teri, the person spinning gets the points and the person who signed them up gets the points. When a person under one member wins points ONLY the person directly above them (the person who invited them)gets the points--the person above THEM does not get anything.

So, yes, the benefit is only for the person who originally shared the link. That is one reason I have the other post where readers can share their links--so we can all find Superpoints "friends" as they are called on the site.

It is by invite only currently. You may want to ask around your friends if they are members and the will be glad to send you a link.

Teri, I want to clarify this point: "When a person under one member wins points ONLY the person directly above them (the person who invited them)gets the points--the person above THEM does not get anything."

The person spinning wins, too.

Hi...signed up for superpoints but cannot find the button anywhere...help anyone??

Cheryl said...

Anon, on the home page hover over the "superpoints network" banner on top left and a drop down will show up saying superlucky button. Click on it. Be sure and fill out your basic information and confirm your email so you get more spins. Then the more you invite the more spins you will get up to 100 a day. All the information is in the Superpoints introduction post (link above).

Hi I just signed up I'm just wondering if I happen to redeem an amazon giftcard or any giftcard and I give it to people I want to give giftcard to that should not be a problem with superpoints right?

I have swagbucks and redeem my points for amazon giftcard. I apply those giftcards to my husband's amazon account because he have prime membership and there's no problem with that.

I just want to make sure would that be a problem with superpoints? because I read that they are strict with their membership compliance. Thanks

Cheryl said...

When you redeem for an Amazon card you will actually receive and Email from Amazon saying "Superpoints sent you a gift card." And the number will be in that email to redeem. Then you can do with it whatever you would like. I imagine the other E-gift cards are the same and the ones they mail you would be regular plastic ones you could share, too. So you should have no problem.
