Share Your CVS Shopping Trip for the Weekly Ad of 8/28/2011

Did you find any good deals  from the CVS Weekly Ad of 8/28 to purchase?  If you blog about your shopping trip I'd love for you to put a link to your post (a link back would be appreciated, but not necessary); and if you don't blog please leave a comment below.  I really enjoy seeing what others get and it is a great way to learn how to CVS.  I learned from reading and reading and reading what
others did. I am still learning!

If you'd like to see some saavy shopping at other stores, or if you'd like to link up your CVS deals trips to other places here are a few to check out.  If you are a blogger and have a weekly savings linky and would like it added, leave a link to it in a comment below and I will add it.

PLEASE NOTE:  ONLY link up to your CVS shopping post directly, all others will be removed.  I have had readers mention too many links are not to CVS shopping posts. I have not had the time over the last several weeks to check the links as I was in the beginning.  I hope to start again this week.

If you have a linky on your blog and are linking up here, add "link up" to your title below so readers can link up at your blog, too.

Here was my Sunday trip. Some items I bought for the deals, some 'cause we needed them.

Transaction 1
St Joseph Aspirin $2
2 x Oral B Floss $1.99 each
Purina Cat Chow $4.99
Gold Bond powder $6.29
Gold bond sanitizer $5.49

Used $1 St Joseph Mfr, 2x $1 Oral B Floss Mfr, $1 Purina Mfr, $2 Gold Bond Sanitizer Mfr, $15 ECB

Came to $1.75 + tax. Way more than I thought 'cause I was only planning on using $10 ECB. Then I realized the Gold Bond powder wasn't included in the BOGO50 deal so I decided to return the two Gold Bond items, and I got a gift card for $12.05 which I used in transaction 2.
Got back $4 ECB also.

Transaction 2
CVS Thermometer $11.49
Gold Bond powder $6.29
Tylenol $5.79

Used 20% off which took of $2.42, $1 tylenol Mfr, $4 ECB + $12.05 gift card
= $4.62 + tax.

Then last night I saw someone post on a blog that some regions got $1 coupons for the Dawn with Olay dishsoap which would make it free at CVS this week. So I checked my P&Gs and lo and behold I did get the $1 off.

So today I went back to CVS and got 3 since I had 3 coupons plus Vitamin D that I needed.

Transaction 3
3x Dawn 0.99c each
2 x Sundown Fish Oil $8.49

Used 3 x $1 Mfr Dawn (adjusted down)
$3 off 2 sundown Mfr
Total OOP= $5.49 + tax

I'm out of the country for 2 and a half weeks so I will be taking a break from CVSing- I'm sure I'll experience withdrawal symptoms!

Sounds like a great week, Melissa. It can be a shocker when it comes to more than you expect. My newspapers have had the coupons taken lately so I didn't even get one yesterday. Nice on the coupon

Patrice, I decided to move it to the bottom of the post so it would be easier to spot :-). Sounds like you had a great trip.

Carol, you did have a great week! So glad to have helped in some small way--you are welcome. (Sorry I am responding so late--your comment got lost in the "moderation dungeon" and I just found it :-).

thanks so much for the blog. this week i didn't save alot but got stuff we will actually USE. You know sometimes you get stuff for free that you just give away. i started with 11 ECB from last wk. Got 4 charmin, 1 tide, 1 bounty, 1 pretzle flips for the gas card deal. AND in the summer clearance my store had pampers splashers!! I got 2 boxes. I used the .25 off all the paper products. $1 off tide and no cpns for the splashers but did pay like 25 to stock our house full of paper, swim diapers and got the gas card deal. Pretty good week, i think!

Looks like you did get stocked up, Bridget.

ok so i took a quick look and was going to only get a few things this week a couple of dawn free visine and the asprine. my hubby was late getting my sunday papers. then monday after work he brings them home. all 30 of them i was amazed. so i started seperating them and noticed my dawn was a dollar coupon. 11pm and i am on the phone with my cvs manager. she said she had 30 dawns with my name on them. because our truck comes in early tuesday morning she would let me.( if not i would have seperated them between the 6 locations i pass during the week) I so my mom quickly helped me cut out 30 while i got dressed. and went and picked them up. so oop i spent 1.8? cause of tax and received a 10 gift card. happy dance at midnight lol so i went and spent $16 oop and the 10 gift card on food covers, baby raft, two pairs of sandles, two speedos swimming goggles, asprine, kid raft, bubbles kit,and 7 zu zu pets. and received 3 in ecbs ohh just relized i forgot to get the visene

Great deal on the Swiffer, Maggie. Last week for the gas card--enjoy it :-).

Maggie F said...

Thanks Cheryl! My ECBs are going down quite fast by me spending them toward things that aren't ECBs deal but my stockpile is quite full and I'm moving next month so I'm going to only work on the free/almost free ECBs from now on so I don't waste time and money on things I really don't need :)

Cheryl said...

Yes, Maggie, they can go quickly, and yet that is part of the joy of CVSing--build those extra bucks up and then use them to get what you need. I hope you have a CVS nearby your new home :-).
