Swag Bucks Tutorial #1: Three Easy Ways to Earn ~ Earning Free CVS Gift Cards & More Online

Search & WinI am so excited that Swagbucks now offers CVS Gift Cards!  I am inspired to investigate more ways to earn more bucks beyond just using their search engine.  I decided as I explore and find ways to earn  I will share them with you each week in a new series called "Saturday's Swagbucks Tutorial."  I'm all about saving time and doing things simply so first I will check into all of the simple ways to earn--the least amount of time spent and quickest rewards.  If you are totally new to the Swagbucks concept you can sign up
and start earning today.  You may like to check out this more thorough detailed post to become familiar with the program:  Earn Prizes While You Search the Web with Swagbucks.

Three Simple Ways to Earn Swagbucks

  1. Search the Web
    1. Use the Swagbucks' search engine throughout the day and earn random Swagbucks
      1. these are awarded randomly
        1. I usually get one in the morning after three or four searches, then often in the late afternoon
        2. Many people get wins three times a day and I have read of some getting four
      2. anywhere from 7 to 11 Swagbucks won is normal
      3. Every Friday is MegaBucks day where you can earn 20, 30, 40 and even more for searching
      4. Hints I have read in searching:
        1. Use the search engine whenever you want to go to any site, even if it is to check your regular email
        2. Brandi posted on the Simply CVS Facebook page that she often doesn't win  from normal searches, but from searching "weird phrases"
        3. When searching a place of business add the specific item you are looking for
          1. Example:  Amazon norelco men's razors
        4. See what phrases are winning on the Swag Bucks Facebook page
          1. People will share what they won with
          2. Others who try that search often win, too, but not always
        5. Be sure and use the image searches, too
        6. Once you win a Swagbuck use a different search engine for a while before returning to using Swagbucks later in the day
          1. If you over search your account can be deactivated
    2. Install the Swagbucks Toolbar (link found at bottom of their home page)
      1. Each day that you open your browser you will automatically earn a point
      2. There are often "Swagcodes" given in the toolbar--enter this code on the Swagbucks homepage and earn more Swagbucks
      3. And you can search right from the toolbar instead of hitting the Swagbucks homepage.
    3. Take the Daily Poll
      1. There is a new daily poll each day which is one easy question with four answers to choose from -- submit your answer and earn 1 Swagbuck
      2. Link found in the left hand column about the third one down
So if you have never signed up with Swagbucks now is a great time!  You can earn CVS gift cards to make your CVSing even sweeter.  And for those who already use Swagbucks, and those who sign up, I'll continue to bring you tutorials on all the ways to earn so we can all get the most we can in the time we have--see all the posts in this series:  Ways to Earn More Swagbucks, Simply (links of lessons below).

I am pretty new to swagbucks and have been doing some research to0! The newest way I have found to earn a couple points is to watch 10 videos (they are about 1 to 5 minutes long) in the swagbucks tv section. You dont have to watch them all at once, it will keep track on the top of the page of your videos! They have good money saving tips, hairdo how to's, recipes....on and on!! Have fun!

Thanks, Dianna, I was actually checking that out to use in a future post. I couldn't find any instructions anywhere so I just started trying it out. I should have waited--your explanation is great!

My daughter asked me, and perhaps you know, do you have to watch them all in one day though? And how many times a day can you earn from it?

Rebecca said...

I'm not sure if you have to watch them all at once, or how many times you can earn SB in a single day, but I DO know that if you make the SB browser smaller, and open a new browser window and make that smaller, you can "watch" the videos in the background :)

Thanks, Rebecca, for those insights. I am anxious to find new ways to earn.

You can watch just one or two one day and it will carry over to the next day. You don't have to do it all in one sitting.

Cheryl said...

Thanks, Ashley, that will be helpful. Also, it gives me more info for when I include the TV section in a post. That makes it a breeze to do--especially if you don't have much time at once.

I'm a big Swagbucks fan!!!

Patrice, I am becoming one. I have done it a year or so with mostly just searching--winning once or twice a day. Now I want to up my winnings because of CVS gift cards :-).

I think you should address the coupons Cheryl. It takes some time for the points to show up, but worth it. (I'm printing them out anyway.)

Cheryl said...

Thanks, Taika, for the reminder. I am working my way thru the various ways a few at a time so hopefully will hit them all. I'm curious--have you actually seen the credit come thru for them?

Taika Maris said...

Yes I did. I was actually very surprised as I had forgot I used them. I don't use a lot from coupons.com but a few. I've read on the swag facebook page that some people print out most of the coupons and leave them next to the product for others to use. I got 80 points in April, but not any since. (Takes 6-10 weeks after you've used the coupon for the points to show up.)

When I turn my computer on I immediately open up the SBTV in the tool bar and let it run while I'm doing other things. If it gets in the way I minimize it and keep clicking it on and off to start a new video. I hope that makes sense. That and doing searches is how I make most of my bucks. I can earn an Amazon gift card in 4 or 5 days if I really stick with it. Yes it plays the same ones over and over. lol

Also remember the NOSO and the Surveys. My daily activities include opening a webpage with the toolbar (1 swagbuck), completing the poll (1 swagbuck), the NOSO (2 swagbucks) and going to the survey page (1 swagbuuck) [5 total) then I search for extra swagbucks. Just going to the NOSO page and thumbing through the initial offers (skipping them all) gives me 2 swagbucks daily. Opening the Survey page automatically gives me 1 swagbuck and sometimes I can actually complete a survey--a large majority of them reject me straight out or string me along for about 10-15 minutes of questions before rejecting me.

Swagbucks occassionally has codes out too that will give anywhere from 1 to 50 swagbucks. Some websites track these however this is against the rules of the site. The Swagguy offers some swagbucks (100 normally) for posting interesting comments on their blog or facebook. Also you can submit possibly trivia questions somewhere on the website to earn swagbucks (I think the blog?) and play their games. As Taika mentioned the coupons are nice, it may take time to show up but in the meantime I'm using them to save $$ in the real world.

You can earn up to 75 swag bucks a day watching the videos. So that means you can fill the meter up 25 times and the meter will carry over until the next day. The pet ones are the shortest, with a majority of the videos running around a minute. You have to hit the play button each time for a new video. I just switch back and forth b/t two pet videos most of the day. Do the dailys also: NOSO for 2SB, daily poll for 1 SB, invite and earn 1sb and go to survey page for 1sb. It resets at midnight these can be found under the earn tab. I always print my coupons.com from thier link to get the 10sb for each one redeemed. If you have any questions let me know I'm on a message board that has lots of help with swagbucks.

Thank you for all the helpful insights, everyone!! I like to take things slowly, lol, and learn a few things at a time and get in the habit of using them and move on--Simply Cheryl here. I'll check these all out and include them in future posts, too. Thanks again.

@Dot, that is amazing--$5 every 4 to 5 days! Thanks for the inspiration.

Nickle831, I just might do that as I work my way thru all the ways to earn--I love help :-).

Lee, I have never had a problem with these. Yes, if it is the first time a cashier sees one they will not know what to do with it, but they are becoming more and more used. The instructions are typed at the bottom for the cashier and are very easy. These are sold by Cashstar on CVS.com not just thru Swagbucks. You canot buy a Visa card with the CVS gift card, no.

You do have to carry the paper with you each time--that is the gift card (and it is on the bottom of that where the instructions are, not another paper). Swagbucks do offer Paypal which you could get to use at CVS instead.

Have you read thru this post about the gift card? http://www.simplycvsshopping.com/2011/07/how-to-use-your-free-cvs-e-gift-cards.html

You could just get a $10 one and try it and see how it goes, and if it is uncomfortable for you to use then just don't get another one--get Amazon cards or something else. Sorry I can't say it will go smoothly, all I can say is I have used them for a few years now and have not had problems. Let me know how you make out if you do try one.
