Share Your CVS Shopping Trip for the Week of 3/27/2011

Did you find any good deals at CVS the Week of 3/27 to purchase?  If you blog about your shopping trip I'd love for you to put a link to your post (a link back would be appreciated, but not necessary); and if you don't blog please leave a comment below.  I really enjoy seeing what others get and it is a great way to learn how to CVS.  I
learned from reading and reading and reading what others did. I am still learning!

If you have a linky on your blog and are linking up here, add "link up" to your title below so readers can link up at your blog, too.

If you'd like to see all of this week's deals check out all of the posts for CVS weekly deals for the weekly ad of 3/27.

If you'd like to see some saavy shopping at other stores, or if you'd like to link up your CVS deals trips to other places here are a few to check out.  If you are a blogger and have a weekly savings linky and would like it added, leave a link to it in a comment below and I will add it.

Great trip, Brandy. It does seem weird to use up extra bucks, yet that is the beauty of it--you get free stuff with them. I imagine a lot of couponers make fuller Easter baskets than before they couponed, by the time Easter comes there have been so many great candy deals to fill them with.

I decided not to get a Sunday paper this weekend even though I could've used some of the insert coupons--Sunday papers are $3.50 each here in Boston! A bit much for me... I still did great at CVS this week:
(note-must be regional, but I noticed some prices in my area was a tad lower than the previewed ads, certainly not complaining!)
2 Speedstick Stainguard $5.50
1 Skintimate Shaving Cream $3.19
1 Clean & Clear body wash $2.99
1 Phys Form. Happy Booster blush $13.19
1 8 oz Cadbury mini eggs $2.00
I had a 5 off 25, 6 off Phys Form. and the $2 printable for C&C body wash. Also had my $6.99 Allegra ECB from last week. Paid 6 something out of pocket and earned $12.50 for next week!!
For a while I got a lot of $5/25 coupons from the scanner, but they seem to have gone away... so sad :(

Cheryl said...

Love DSG,thanks for linking up.

Cheryl said...

Anon, you did still do great without the paper. Those $5/25's are fantastic, I miss them--it has been months, I think I'd fall over if one printed out.

Trans 1. I got the Physicians Formula mascara - used $8 in ECB = $1.99.
Trans 2. Used the $7 ECV from Trans.1 on the Physicians Formula concealer $5.99, 1 CVS Green Bag Tag (finally remembered to get one), 1 Colgate toothbrush 2.99-1.00 Q, 2 Visine travel size 1.99 - (2) 2.00 Q's. = 1.95 My $7 ECB for the concealer did not print. I had to explain to the clerk that the mascara deal and the make-up deals were separate. She gave me the $7 ECB. Got $2 ECB.
Trans 3. 2 Men's Dove Deodorant - used (2) $2 Q's, 2 Axe body washes - used B1G1 Q. Used the $7 ECB from trans. 2 = $.53 One of my coupons was adjusted down. My total was not high enough for the $5 ECB so I went back and got another deodorant and used another $2 off Q and then got the $5 ECB back. I spent a total of about $2.52+tax and have $8 to spend next week!

Cheryl said...

Fantastic, Betsy. When I need to get up to a certain total I often hand them those items first and when they are all rung up I ask for the sub-total, that way they and I both know if I made it. It can be frustrating to figure wrong.

This week's shopping trip was:
Physicians Formula Organic Mascara $9.99
Physicians Formula Eyelighter Set $10.49
Skintimate Shave Cream $3.49
Colgate 360 Toothbrush $2.99
Used two $5 off Physician Formula coupons, one $6 off Physicians formula coupon from the CVS scanner, one $0.55 off Skintimate coupon and $6.99 in ECB. Out of pocket including tax was $6.20 and I received $18.50 back in ECB.

Cheryl said...

Very nice trip for you, Nat. They could not get my Skintimate q to scan or type in so the manager just price modified the product and took the coupon.

Amanda said...

Thanks for always doing this Cheryl. I've usually gotten my CVS trip out of the way by Sunday afternoon, but not this week. I found some good ideas and coupons I didnt know about looking through these, so hopefully I'll be back to link mine up later on. ;)

Cheryl said...

Yes, Amanda, I agree, seeing what others do is so helpful in not missing something. There are just sooo many deals out there it is hard to catch them all.

I don't know what I did.. I just did it :)

I had 10 coupons (2 sets) left over from last week and was planning on going Monday night but decided to sleep instead.. so 1 set expired on me and it messed me up.. but I'm recovering!

So I had 5 left today. The only ones I wasn't going to use were the Nature Bounty and Starbucks but I too found the VIA on clearance at my store.. just didn't have the manu coupon because I *think* I threw them away after I requested my pound of coffee (the rebate thing) I'm on the search in my recycle pile and I'll do a return/repurchase if I find one! I don't feel like I lost too much though. At Kroger they were $6.29 and I stacked an ecoupon w/manu so got my first one for $3.29 anyway... Saved .05 more today :)

I just *really* messed up my whole Tostito/dip plan.. but I still got one free dip (and I'll just do the Velveeta/Rotel cheese dip thing :) They were also still on sale so that helped ease the pain of missing the whole thing.

Purchased:
2 Tostitos 2/$6
1 Con Queso Dip $3
5 Pepsi .88
1 Milano cookies $2.44
2 Corn Flakes $1.87
1 Starbucks Via clearance $4.24
6 Snickers .99 B2G1x2
CVS Hand Sanitizer $2.99 (but open ECB deal)
scanned bag tag
Coupons:
CVS $1 Starbucks (exp 4/2)
CVS .25 on 2 Snickers (exp 4/2)
CVS .25 on 2 Snickers printed out
CVS $1 Hand Sanitizer printed out
CVS 2 Tostitos/Con Queso FREE(exp 4/2)
Milano .55 (I have no clue if I saved though)
2 Cornflakes/$1

total spent $24.38
today you saved $26.79

I rec'd my first Green Tag ECB so I'm going to combine it w/the left over Dove coupon to make up for that loss this week on Friday. I have to go back then because I have my first rain check on Corn Flakes. I'll also finish up the CVS brand skin ECB (still going on from last week too!) and I want to do the cleaning ECB (my second chance to do it so I'm going for it!)

Cheryl said...

Susan, it is so frustrating when things don't go as planned--and expired coupons are so sad, it is like throwing money away. Sounds like you and CVS are busy together this week. Hope you can find the cleaning deal you want. My store was stocked well enough on all of it.

My CVS was out of the Physician's Formula Mascara on sale with ECBs, and still out of the Crest toothpaste that I have a raincheck for from a week or so ago. So here's what I got.

Physicians Formula Concealer 5.99
3 Stove Top Stuffing 2.31
- $5 Physicians Formula coupon
- (3) $0.50 Stove Top coupons
Total = $1.80 + tax
paid on giftcard b/c my total was too low to use any of my ECBs.
Received $7 ECBs for makeup

I got a raincheck for the mascara, too.
I can't complain about not finding things, because I still made money and have rainchecks for the others!

Cheryl said...

I really like the rain checks, Sara, often better than the week they are on sale. Nice price on the concealer--ours was $6.29.
