CVS Black Friday Deals ~ What About Stock?

I had spoken with my manager about Black Friday deals a week ago and she said she hadn't even looked it over  yet, but I could call her with a list and she would order us what we wanted (I do mine and my mom's card, and Sarah does her's and a friend's).  This week when I shopped she said, "we are NOT going to have to order you anything, with as much  of that Black Friday stuff they sent me on this truck.  There is enough for the
whole county."  So here's to hoping they are doing that at all stores and you all will be able to find just what you want.  But if they are out of stock of regularly carried items ask for rainchecks.  I have heard of some stores refusing, but it looks like that is a rarity.  If they do refuse, I would call Customer Service (800-shopcvs) and ask if they have a policy about it.  If you want to see ads and deals from other stores check out A Full Cup's Black Friday Forum.

That's great to know Cheryl, I hate it when they don't have anything in stock.

It can be very disappointing, JR, but I actually came to like it because I learned to use rain checks. Now my store is always stocked.LOL

At my store, the good deals go out of stock within a day!!! :(

I mostly work my way by getting and using RC!! :)

BTW, do you know if the Black Friday Deals have the clause like No Rain Checks?
I don't want to camp outside my CVS in cold weather :)

Thanks
Suma

Suma, I have not had the ad in hand--only the one online and I can't read the fine print. But my CVS always gave out rain checks, but an employee who comments on here said her store did not. I have read other couponers say that they give them for the regularly stocked items. So I can't say a definitive yes on this one.

The only thing the Ad states is that rainchecks can not be given on items that are not regularly carried. After talking it over with my 'new' manager she said she couldn't image the 'free' items being a problem if we needed to give out rainchecks. (All free items are regularly carried with the exception of the trail size pain killers.)

If the truck at the 'new' store is anything like my 'old' store this week there is going to be lots & lots of extra. Take toothpaste for example: the 'old' store got a tote full, one tote for each 'flavor.' That's three totes! Boy was that heavy to lug around.

Great, Taika, for the insider's view! That is a ton of toothpaste--those totes are not small.

My CVS always runs out of the freebies on the first day of the sale. So I'm planning on being there at midnight Thursday.

Cheryl said...

Good plan, CJ. I assume you are talking Thursday morning. :-)

That's good to know! I hope that's the case everywhere! I never get to shop at my regular CVS the day after Thanksgiving because we're always out of town and it always make me nervous shopping at a CVS I'm not use to!

Oh, Jamie, I know, I haven't shopped in any CVS but mine in two years. We often talk of moving and say we will have to check out CVS stores before we decide where to live. :-)

For once I think I am lucky not to have a 24 hr CVS! LOL Mine opens at 8am, so I can camp out in my normal waking hours :)

LOL, Julie! Enjoy yourself!
