What I Did With My CVS Purchases for the Week of 9/12

My Weekly CVS TripHere's the breakdown of my purchases and what I'll be doing with them.  I haven't been getting a lot lately, been busy and not really working at it, I really need to get back in the swing of getting more deals--especially food items.  I was going to use my rainchecks and pick up some more Sobe, but they were out of it.  I may go back later this week or just wait until next.  The kids at church are really
enjoying it.

  • Tylenol Precise -- Mine! LOL  I have a lot of muscle pain and thought it might help
  • Skintimate -- Daughter's Christmas Box
  • Nivea for Men --  donate to organization that helps homeless men and men with addictions; they give them shelter as part of the program
  • Alive Vitamins -- either myself or my mom
  • Little Critters -- Put away for Operation Christmas Child (see below)
  • High Octane Chews -- a friend who works in security and sometimes during long hours uses energy shots, I thought he might like these
  • Candy Corn -- for my daughter (I buy her a bag each fall--well, usually CVS buys it :-) )
Do you find yourself buying things that are for others, too?  Oh, and I got a bag of the Candy Corn on my mom's card (she can't eat sugar) and gave it to the assistant manager on duty who checked me out.

Operation Christmas Child is one place we collect items from CVS for all year long.  By the time the week of the collection comes around we have enough items to easily fill 4 boxes--one for each of us to give.  Often we have done more.  We have done this as a family for years and have even received letters from children around the world who have received our boxes.  Check it out if you'd like a fun project to do with your children for Christmas.  There are collection centers all over the United States (organized by Samaritans Purse, an International Christian Relief Agency).  Click on the image for information on how to pack a shoe box and where the drop off centers will be located.

I love your site so much esp. when you do break downs like this. You give back so much even to the people at CVS - I love it! And it's good to know I'm not the only person out there that buys odd things to give to people. I have given hand lotion, eye drops, contact lens solution, etc. to people that I know use that item. I have gotten some odd looks from people but usually when I tell them I got it for free and thought of them, they get pretty excited!

Thanks, SuzyQpon, especially for the insight into what you like here--helps me know what to share.
I can picture the odd looks. I am wondering what our music director (the security guy I mentioned above) at church will think Sunday when I take him those chews :-). He knows I coupon--we took his wife once CVSing when there were dozens of unlimited deals (a LOOOOOONG time ago) and she had a ball--so he won't be too surprised.
