I have mentioned previously on Simply CVS about using eGift cards from CVS. The company that powers them is CashStar. This year for the first time they are offering a CVS Flu Shot eCard. The price is$29.95. Here are some details from the information they sent me:
“CVS/pharmacy just launched its first ever online flu shot gift cards. These gift cards can be emailed, printed and redeemed for a flu vaccine at CVS/pharmacy’s more than 7,000 locations, as well as the company’s 500+ MinuteClinic locations. This year, only one vaccine is required for protection against three influenza strains, including the H1N1 virus and the seasonal H3N2 virus. For $29.95, anyone can send a friend or family member this ‘all-in-one’ flu shot protection in the form of an eGift Card.
“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that people get a flu shot every year. It’s especially important for children over 6 months old, people who have chronic illnesses (such as asthma and diabetes), are pregnant, over age 65, or caregivers for people within these high-risk groups. While getting an annual flu shot is important for many people, many do not get them because they either don’t have the money or are uninsured. That’s why the flu shot digital gift card is a perfect gift from caregivers of people in high-risk groups.”
You can read frequently asked question about the 2010 flu shot at The Center for Disease Control.
Getting a flu shot at CVS is quite easy. You can schedule one online, in person or over the phone. If your store has minute clinics I believe you can just walk in. We took my mom yesterday and after filling out a form she received the shot—it was easy and uneventful. She also received a coupon for 10% off any purchase at CVS Coupon (some restrictions apply).
You can purchase the CVS Flu eGift card online and have it emailed to any email address you choose. The recipient prints it out and uses it when they get their shot. CashStar has agreed to offer one $29.95 CVS Flu eGift Card to one reader of Simply CVS. Entries will be received thru Tuesday, 9/14 at Noon Eastern Time. Winner will be notified by Email and will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be choosen.
To Enter:
- Visit the CVS Flu Gift Card by Email site to see how easy it is to purchase one.
- Fill out the form below.
- Leave a comment letting us know who will get the flu shot if you win.
- Sign up for Simply CVS emails.
- Fill out the form below letting me know it is your extra entry and that you are signed up for the emails.
The CVS Flu eGift Card prize is provided by CashStar. I receive no compensation from CashStar or CVS for promoting the Flu eGift card or for this post or giveaway.

I would be the one to use this, if I win it.
If I win I will give it to my mother. I already have mine bec of last week deal and this would be great oppurtunity to get my mom the flu shot. thanks for the chance....
If I win, I will be the one using it. It sure beats paying the $35 co-pay at my doctors office!
What an interesting giveaway Cheryl! We don't get the flu shot in my family, but I'm sure a lot of people will find this one really useful.
I would like to invite you to this week’s The Wednesday Window . It is the place to feature your favorite blog post of the past week or so, for more details check out Frugality Is Free.
I would be the one to use it since both my kids are covered on insurance and my husband works for a hospital! I'm the lone person to pay for a shot! Last year I went without and paid dearly :)
I would use the flu shot for my daughter. She's never had the flu, and I hope she never does.
I would probably use it myself, since I'm around kids a lot at church.
I will give it to my daughter as she has no insurance and I can get my shot for my $15 co-pay at my Doctor. Everyone really needs to get one!
Thanks so much!
Joyful
Thanks! I entered twice (subscribed to e-mail updates). I never get the flu vaccines, but I got the flu for the first time, that I can recall anyway, last year. I don't want to go through that again! Winning this will be an extra nudge to get the vaccine.
If I win, my boyfriend will be getting the flu shot since I am typically covered at my job.
I would give it to my 20 yo DD as she is in college and does not have insurance. She will need it!
My husband would get this - then we'd both be covered!
I would use the flu shot!
I would be the one to use the flu shot.
I signed up for Simply CVS emails.
I would give this to my neighbor, she can't afford one.
I would use this for myself--unfortunately "an apple a day" no longer cuts it in these days of H1N1
Either myself or my husband. Thanks so much for the giveaway!
I would use this for myself or boyfriend..neither one of us have insurance. Love your site!
I would use it. Flu shots are expensive, and not something I usually cough up the money for.
I would use it for myself. Our insurance covers flu shots for my sons with no co-pay, but I have to pay the $25 co-pay for mine.
I am signed up for your emails, thanks for 2 chances to win!
I would probably use the flu shot. Thanks!
