I mentioned in my weekly CVS shopping trip post that I ordered some Sobe from the "Pepsi Guy." So I ran last night to get it. He had seven different flavors available so I asked for one case of each. And I still have coupons left and am still playing the Sobe Heads or Tails game daily. I sure hope the youth at our church or whoever they share it with like all of these.
My daughter had a $5/25 and other things to buy and needed something more to get to
the $25, so she bought one of the cases. I purchased 6 cases of 12 at $.74 tax each for a total of $4.44 out of pocket (ouch--not used to that much) and saved a total of $120.66.
If you have no idea how I did this, you can play the Sobe game daily and print two B1G1 coupons and CVS has it on sale this week for B1G1--so all you pay is tax on each two. The limit is 6 deals, or 12 bottles, so the manager just rang them up one 12 pack at a time. Some managers do use the limit in the paper to limit customers, but when there is no extra buck in the deal the register does not limit per customer. My store chooses almost always to not limit customers to one deal.

Holy Moly!!! You rock G/F!!!!!!!! I am still so scared to get into the drug store game! I have tried Walgreen's and end up spending more then I wanted to.. LOL I will keep on watching you all and learn some more tips before trying again!!
Hi, Olenka, you need to start slowly for sure. If you have time, read over the Five Levels of CVS Shoppers (tab for it is under Simply CVS banner). You can see how you can start real slow each week. You can even just do one deal a week to start. I really didn't like Walgreen's at all, but others get amazing deals, but too much stress for me--ours was not coupon friendly.
I'd love to have you just start little and try it because eventually you'd be saving a lot of money and have lots of cool stuff. :-) Hang around and keep reading and let me know if you dive in.
I am going this morning to get mine. I should be getting the same amount, but dont have much ECB, so I will be paying a little more. Still an amazing deal tho!
Wow I wish I lived by your cvs. Last time they did this deal I got 80 for free but had to go to a ton of stores and got aa hassle everytime I went. One MANAGER said he doesn't take coupons for items that are on sale! One said you have to buy three, get one free from the store, one from the coupon and pay for one. Another said they wouldn't take the internet coupons cause they where a fraud! I had to go to 6 CVS. I decided not to even bother anymore. Plus 80 Sobe will last me a LONG time!
Serena, as fun as CVS is it can be just as frustrating. I'd love to have everyone shop at my little CVS. And we have 3 in our district I can get to (two are 30 minutes away)and the District manager encourages great service and the customer is right so it is great--even though you still run into problems once in a while, but not usually at my tiny CVS.
Love the "no coupons on sale items." Who would shop there if they didn't?
Amazing, by the way, you have so many to go to, but what a pain to get the deals, too.
Wow! Cheryl, I'm speechless~
Thanks, FrugalMom. It was fun--this is the first time I have done such a large amount of something.
Wow, that is so great that your cvs will let you order so many. I've had some mix reviews at our CVS.
Last week I could only use one coupon at a time. The cashier ended up ringing my sobe's up two at a time and did 7 transactions. More work on her but I was still paying just tax.
I went in tuesday and got 6 (my cvs thinks 6 limit is 6 total not 12), I had no problem with my three coupons, but she forgot to ring up my green tag. Since I was there and had more coupons I took those to the car and went back in to get 6 more. A different cashier said I couldn't use them. A total amount of 2 minutes may have passed since my first transaction. I told her, well I just did over there a second ago. She said well I'll take them this time, but you are already getting one free. I said okay and made sure my green tag was scanned.
I just don't get why the cashiers want to make up their own rules and not follow store policy.
It turns out sobe's are part of the mega event at kroger this week so I've started using my coupons there. I bet I've gotten 60, going to be great for tailgating in a few weeks.
msuweather, it is strange--they can't comprehend that we ARE paying, we are just paying with coupons instead of cash. It is just so hard to comprehend for someone who doesn't coupon--it "looks" wrong to them.
"msu" and tailgating--hmmm, Michigan State??? Transplanted Buckeye here.
HAHA! NOPE!
Mississippi State :)
Your right! It just looks wrong to them, they really don't know.
Oops, sorry! Being from the Midwest my mind always go to Michigan when I see MSU. Have a great football season!
All The CVS Around ME Will Not Let You Use A BOGO Coupon On A BOGO Item Its A New Policy :(
Hi, FFinF. Thanks for letting us know. I do not think it is a corporate policy yet, but is allowed by managers perhaps--some things district or store managers can decide on, and sometimes they do things they aren't supposed to and when customers check with customer service they find out the store should allow it. I just received another email from CVS customer service about coupon policies dated 8/18 and it still included the B1G1 coupon and B1G1 sale.
I am so sorry your stores don't allow it.
Got 5 cases (60 Sobe) for under free!! Had to buy fillers to use all my coupons! I think I have another 3 dozen in my pantry. We are set!!
Way to go, Amanda, so glad you could get them. many reports of stores not accepting them or not many.
Hmm, I didn't realize you can just get two and buy using cvs b1g1 and my coupon b1g1 i can get them both free. i thought i had to buy one and get 2 free since my cvs sells them for $1.49 each it worked out to be almost $.50 a piece so that wasn't much of a deal. I'm gonna play sobe game now and try it see if it works. The manager at my cvs says i dont think you can do that and I said can we try it and see if it rings up and he said sure. So i think i'll be able to do it *fingers crossed* THANKS!
Elsa, if he is willing to try it you should have no problem. The register just asks for the amount. You can only get 12 total in one transaction to get the b1g1 sale price.
Wow, that's great that you were able to order so many SoBe! There's no way I'd be able to get away with that at my CVS. :) Great Job!
Yes, Jamie, my CVS is wonderful.
Just so you know, I went to get 4 Sobes at CVS tonight, as I had 2 BOGO coupons from the Sobe Heads or Tails game. The cashier said that they'd gotten an email about the BOGO coupons, and pointed out that the coupons say "one coupon per purchase" and that she was told she was only supposed to accept one coupon at a time. She went ahead and took my coupons, but told me she'd had to sign something saying that she understood the policy. She said people were coming in and wiping out their stocks of Sobe (which is true; out of 5 CVS stores locally, only one store had some SObe, and only a few bottles at that). Anyway, just wanted to make you aware.
Thanks, ScienceGeek. This is a confusing thing. If it says "one per purchase" not "one per transaction" most coupons say that and it means per items purchased, not per time checking out. So each two you "purchase" you can use one coupon. But people often get the two confused. I have read many times of cashiers saying they have gotten emails but it isn't true across the board--I wonder if it is then an email from the district manager, not CVS corporate, since managers are allowed to to limit things themselves (sometimes). When I went on Monday a manager checked me out, well actually the manager and an assistant manager, and they said nothing about using 6 at one time. Thanks for the heads up about this, though. CVSing can be so frustrating and confusing.
